    Research on Random Fatigue Load Model of Highway Bridge by Vehicle Traffic Based on GMM

    Highway bridges have often suffered accidents due to fatigue damage. This paper studies the influence of vehicle operating state on the fatigue performance of bridges. Based on GMM method and K-S test in information statistics, this paper proposes an improved Gaussian hybrid modelling method, and studies the various parameters of vehicle operating state on beam bridge fatigue, such as the impact of the damage and its fatigue life assessment. On this basis, the fatigue cumulative damage formula of multi-vehicle upper bridge is proposed. The traffic load of Shandong JiNan-QingDao expressway has been GMMly analysed by GMM. The Gaussian mixture model is used to fit the vehicle load probability function by standard fatigue vehicle model. Based on the expressway, the vehicle fatigue has been established to facilitate the fatigue load and evaluate the fatigue life. Gradually this paper helps to improve the accuracy and convenience of the probability model, which is conducive to the establishment of a scientific and efficient load probability model for road vehicles

    Noninteractive Verifiable Outsourcing Algorithm for Bilinear Pairing with Improved Checkability

    It is well known that the computation of bilinear pairing is the most expensive operation in pairing-based cryptography. In this paper, we propose a noninteractive verifiable outsourcing algorithm of bilinear pairing based on two servers in the one-malicious model. The outsourcer need not execute any expensive operation, such as scalar multiplication and modular exponentiation. Moreover, the outsourcer could detect any failure with a probability close to 1 if one of the servers misbehaves. Therefore, the proposed algorithm improves checkability and decreases communication cost compared with the previous ones. Finally, we utilize the proposed algorithm as a subroutine to achieve an anonymous identity-based encryption (AIBE) scheme with outsourced decryption and an identity-based signature (IBS) scheme with outsourced verification

    Mechanisms of Cell Cycle Control Revealed by a Systematic and Quantitative Overexpression Screen in S. cerevisiae

    Regulation of cell cycle progression is fundamental to cell health and reproduction, and failures in this process are associated with many human diseases. Much of our knowledge of cell cycle regulators derives from loss-of-function studies. To reveal new cell cycle regulatory genes that are difficult to identify in loss-of-function studies, we performed a near-genome-wide flow cytometry assay of yeast gene overexpression-induced cell cycle delay phenotypes. We identified 108 genes whose overexpression significantly delayed the progression of the yeast cell cycle at a specific stage. Many of the genes are newly implicated in cell cycle progression, for example SKO1, RFA1, and YPR015C. The overexpression of RFA1 or YPR015C delayed the cell cycle at G2/M phases by disrupting spindle attachment to chromosomes and activating the DNA damage checkpoint, respectively. In contrast, overexpression of the transcription factor SKO1 arrests cells at G1 phase by activating the pheromone response pathway, revealing new cross-talk between osmotic sensing and mating. More generally, 92%–94% of the genes exhibit distinct phenotypes when overexpressed as compared to their corresponding deletion mutants, supporting the notion that many genes may gain functions upon overexpression. This work thus implicates new genes in cell cycle progression, complements previous screens, and lays the foundation for future experiments to define more precisely roles for these genes in cell cycle progression

    Land Use and Land Cover Change Modeling and Future Potential Landscape Risk Assessment Using Markov-CA Model and Analytical Hierarchy Process

    Land use and land cover change (LULCC) has directly played an important role in the observed climate change. In this paper, we considered Dujiangyan City and its environs (DCEN) to study the future scenario in the years 2025, 2030, and 2040 based on the 2018 simulation results from 2007 and 2018 LULC maps. This study evaluates the spatial and temporal variations of future LULCC, including the future potential landscape risk (FPLR) area of the 2008 great (8.0 Mw) earthquake of south-west China. The Cellular automata–Markov chain (CA-Markov) model and multicriteria based analytical hierarchy process (MC-AHP) approach have been considered using the integration of remote sensing and GIS techniques. The analysis shows future LULC scenario in the years 2025, 2030, and 2040 along with the FPLR pattern. Based on the results of the future LULCC and FPLR scenarios, we have provided suggestions for the development in the close proximity of the fault lines for the future strong magnitude earthquakes. Our results suggest a better and safe planning approach in the Belt and Road Corridor (BRC) of China to control future Silk-Road Disaster, which will also be useful to urban planners for urban development in a safe and sustainable manner

    Distributed Non-Convex Optimization with Sublinear Speedup under Intermittent Client Availability

    Federated learning is a new distributed machine learning framework, where a bunch of heterogeneous clients collaboratively train a model without sharing training data. In this work, we consider a practical and ubiquitous issue when deploying federated learning in mobile environments: intermittent client availability, where the set of eligible clients may change during the training process. Such intermittent client availability would seriously deteriorate the performance of the classical Federated Averaging algorithm (FedAvg for short). Thus, we propose a simple distributed non-convex optimization algorithm, called Federated Latest Averaging (FedLaAvg for short), which leverages the latest gradients of all clients, even when the clients are not available, to jointly update the global model in each iteration. Our theoretical analysis shows that FedLaAvg attains the convergence rate of O(E1/2/(N1/4T1/2))O(E^{1/2}/(N^{1/4} T^{1/2})), achieving a sublinear speedup with respect to the total number of clients. We implement FedLaAvg along with several baselines and evaluate them over the benchmarking MNIST and Sentiment140 datasets. The evaluation results demonstrate that FedLaAvg achieves more stable training than FedAvg in both convex and non-convex settings and indeed reaches a sublinear speedup

    A novel nussbaum functions based adaptive event-triggered asymptotic tracking control of stochastic nonlinear systems with strong interconnections

    In this work, the issue of event-triggered-based asymptotic tracking adaptive control of stochastic nonlinear systems in pure-feedback form with strong interconnections is considered. First, a new decentralized control scheme is developed by introducing the new types of Nussbaum functions, which enables the output of each subsystem to asymptotically track the desired reference signal. Second, the nonaffine structures and the unknown control gains existing in the nonlinear systems are a part of the considered system model, which makes it more complicated to design the decentralized controllers. Therefore, the complexity caused by the nonaffine structures is faciliated by mean value theorem and the unknown control gains are handled by a novel Nussbaum function in our proposed design scheme. Meanwhile, the unknown nonlinearities of the system are approximated by using intelligent control technology. Furthermore, an event-triggered method is introduced in the design process to save communication resources effectively. It is shown that all signals of the closed-loop systems are bounded in probability and the tracking errors asymptotically converge to zero in probability. Finally, the simulation results illustrate the effectivity of the presented scheme
